Shibou-douki (cover letter), this is the most important section for you to explain why you are applying to this company. You can think of it like writing a love letter. You do not need to present yourself as perfect, but it is import to elaborate on how well-suited you are to the company.
To complete this, the first thing you should do is familiarize yourself with the company in detail. You can search for information on the web, explore vacancies, and visit the company's homepage. Check the company’s vision, mission, and values, and understand how the company aims to behave, think, and achieve its goals. Pay attention to what is mentioned in the company's job postings. Do they provide insights about colleagues, daily routines, orientation, or on-the-job training (OJT)?
Secondly, identify the positions available to you. Is the position appealing to you, or can you envision your future in that role?
Third, think about yourself, try write down something about you;
- What are your strengths for this position?
- If you were the interviewer, how would you try to understand yourself.
- Consider the information from the job vacancy and the company's philosophy you focused on earlier.
- Are there any similarities between your thoughts and the company's?
