When applying for a job in Japan, you will generally need two documents: a Japanese Resume(Rirekisho履歴書) and Japanese CV (Shokumu-keirekisho職務経歴書).
Japanese CV (Shokumu-keirekisho)
A work history document that you need to create in addition to a rirekisho in Japan. Document that appeals to the past work experience (company you worked at, job description, skills you used, etc and your strength.)

How to write a Japanese CV
①Name and submission Date
- Enter your name and the creation date in the upper right corner.
(The date in which you will submit your Japanese CV is preferred.)
②Summarize your work experience and overview
- Write a brief summary of your past experiences in approximately 3 to 5 lines.
③Enter your areas of expertise and skills
④List of work history
- Fill in all the companies you have worked at from the company you were last enrolled(the official name of the companies).
- Enter the employment dates(Date of joining- Date of retirement).
If you are currently working there, write “20XX年X月X日~現在 (XX/XX/20XX-present)”.
⑤Summary of work history
- Fill in all the companies you have worked at from the company you were last enrolled(the official name of the companies).
- Enter the employment dates(Date of joining- Date of retirement).
- Enter business description.
- Enter capital and number of employees.
- Fill in the department you belonged to, job description and projects you were involved at each company.
- Enter the results you have achieved in each project or indicate your contributions to each company by using easy to understand points.
⑥Summary of experience/ knowledge/ technical skills
- Enter the experience and knowledge you have gained from your previous work experience.
For instance, be specific on an experience that you want to emphasize including mention the number of years of that job. - If you have any technical skills, indicate the practical work experience you have, also the specific tools, etc that you can use.
⑦Reason why you want to join the company you are applying
- Fill in the reason to join the company, your motivation, how you are going to contribute to the company.
